Derek is a portfolio manager and research analyst with more than 35 years of financial industry experience. He joined Oarsman Capital in 2022 and he is a member of the Oarsman Capital Investment Committee. He is also a partner of the firm and chief compliance officer.
Prior to joining Oarsman Capital, Derek held portfolio manager positions with Geneva Capital, Ziegler Capital Management and Heartland Advisors.
Derek earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Carroll College in Waukesha, WI and a Master of Business Administration from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI.
